Firefighters battled a blaze at an apartment building in the south end of Ann Arbor.
The fire burned into a two-story building of the Lake Village apartments, located off Main Street.
Firefighters from the Pittsfield Township and Ypsilanti worked with the Ann Arbor Fire Department on what was considered the equivalent of a three-alarm fire.
Police said between six and 12 apartments were directly damaged by the fire and another unknown amount were damaged by smoke.
Residents were evacuated and Ann Arbor police said no one was injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but officials said they determined that the fire began in an upstairs apartment.
